Wölffer Estate was started in 1988 by visionary Christian Wölffer, now run by the 2nd generation. The winery owns just over 22ha in Sagaponack of sustainably farmed vineyards. Additionally, they partner with carefully selected growers on the North Fork of Long Island. Certified sustainable by Long Island Sustainable Winegrowing, they adhere to a checklist of over 200 farming best practices all with the goal of reducing chemicals and fertilizers, promoting biological diversity and healthy soils, protecting the delicate maritime ecosystem, while maintaining the highest level of quality in the vineyards. Additionally, they have made investments in solar power and biodegradable products while encouraging native vegetation and wildlife. The company produces a variety of premium, distinctive wines as well as ciders and spirits all with a penchant for style and celebration.
