One of the steepest, most picturesque vineyards in California, producing some of the best Zinfandels in the world.
Dr. Jerry Seps, a professor of European history, launched Storybook Mountain in 1983. The 100-acre estate is located at the northern most end of Napa Valley as you cross over into Knight’s Valley-Sonoma. This is the coolest micro-climate in northern Napa and situated 600-1200ft above sea level. The estate is comprised of 105 organically certified blocks of 30+ year old vines. ‘Jerry’, the godfather of Zinfandel (he founded ZAP) loves his wines and produces 5-6,000 cases a year, primarily of different interpretations of Zinfandel. These are glorious, food-friendly wines. Think of roasted lamb, BBQ pork, grilled steak, stuffed mushrooms, charcuterie and aged Cheddar or Gouda.
