One of Bordeaux’s oldest and most esteemed family‑owned wine merchant houses
Founded in 1739, Schröder & Schyler is one of Bordeaux’s oldest and most esteemed family‑owned wine merchant houses, still led today by eighth‑generation director Yann Schÿler. Based in Bordeaux’s historic Chartrons district, the house is a true Bordeaux specialist, bringing deep expertise in château selection and Grand Cru purchasing. Its long‑standing vineyard relationships across the region provide unparalleled access to both leading classified growths and standout boutique estates.
Beyond négociant activities, the Schÿler family also owns Château Kirwan, a historic Third Growth Margaux estate acquired in 1925. Located in Cantenac, the 37‑hectare estate of gravel and clay soils is planted predominantly to Cabernet Sauvignon, supplemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Château Kirwan is renowned for its refined, terroir-driven wines that exemplify the elegance and balance of the Margaux appellation.
Our portfolio also proudly features two other standout Bordeaux estates represented by Schröder & Schyler: Château Branaire‑Ducru and Château Sénéjac.
