Native vines tell the story and are an expression of the place they grow in. My duty as a vine grower is to transform them into wines that reflect the unique flavour of the terroir where they are produced.
Everything starts and depends on the terroir. Graziano Prà's Soave vineyards are planted on the slopes of a dormant volcano. The identity of the wines is a combination of the volcanic soil, the hillside vineyards, a specific microclimate and a selection of only native grapes. Add to this the farming choices that are influenced by the wellbeing and wholesomeness of agricultural products that we will all eat one day. Watch their short video Here showing the diversity of the region.
Graciano’s are pure, terroir-driven wines. No malolactic fermentation on the white wines, instead just a very gentle pressing, low temperatures during fermentation to preserve fruit and as little handling of the wines as possible, all to produce wines of impressive calibre. His wines have earned more than 10 ‘Tre Bicchieri’ awards from Gambero Rosso and is noted as a reference point producer in Soave by The Wine Advocate. These are truly spectacular wines and incredibly food friendly. Don’t be fooled by cheap versions of Soave which bear no resemblance to Graziano’s wines. Open his ‘Otto’ Soave and enjoy with a wide variety of foods from Parma ham to pasta dishes, risotto, white fish and fresh vegetables.
