Pandolfa

Predappio, Emilia-Romagna

Pandolfa is a wine estate, rich in history, with roots going back to the days of knights, intrigues and battles.

There is romance in the history of the winery, but there is also one of magnificent hospitality and heartache. Giuseppe Ricci took over the property in 1941.  It was embroiled in WWII with the Germans occupying the estate. In the 1950s, he set about restoring the land, renovating the Villa and planting vines. Upon his death in 1980, his daughter Noelia continued the work. Today, Marco Cirese, the fourth-generation member of the family carries on the estate’s history and heritage.

The estate is 90ha, 30ha of which are dedicated to vines with olive and fruit trees also planted. The land is farmed as naturally and sustainably as possible and has been slowly converting over to organics since 2018. The romanticism continues in the labels which are a tribute to the Renaissance and depict figures closely associated with the estate’s history. The wines themselves demonstrate a distinctly whimsical and contemporary side of the family.  They are delightful, everyday wines for casual get-togethers.
