Domaine de la Noblaie is a family owned, 28ha estate, that sits on one of the highest points of Chinon. Certified organic, everything that Jerôme and his family does is with one objective – to return life to the soil, to encourage the proper balance of the vines, to control their vigour and yield. Each step is carefully considered and done by hand.
The winery is a mere stone’s throw from the vineyards. The grapes move through the cellar by gravity allowing for a gentle extraction. A limestone vat, that was dug into the tuffeau centuries ago, is used for a specific vinification of a single wine, Pierre de Tuf. 8 wines in all, with a total production of 150,000 bottles, including 2 white wines from Chenin Blanc. Aging of the wines is from 6-24 months in their natural cellars in a combination of vats, barrels, or amphorae, all of which contribute to the character of the wines, the finesse and the elegance. Delicious wines on their own, they are also terrific food accompaniments and for memorable evenings with friends.
