Château Pesquié

Ventoux, Rhône Valley

Château Pesquié is a pioneering estate of the Côtes de Ventoux.

Over the past 50 years the Bastide family, now on the 3rd generation, have carefully tended the vineyards and been at the forefront of change in the Ventoux appellation. In 1993, they were the first cellar to be selected by the Farré Network (Forum of Reasoned Agriculture Respecting the Environment). In 2007, the first parcels were certified organic, and today, brothers Frederic and Alexandre farm the entire vineyards using the main biodynamic preparations.  Additionally, solar panels on the property produce more electricity than the estate uses.

The vineyards are dominated by Mt. Ventoux.  25km long, 15km wide and with a mountain peak of 1912m it provides an incredible geological, cultural and historical ‘terroir’.  It is one of the coolest micro-climates in the southern Rhône Valley and offers great mineral diversity with an array of complex limestone soil structures. The southern slope of the mountain receives high levels of sunlight and with the cooling winds of the Mistral, provide optimal conditions for the health of the vines. The wines have beautiful colour, great concentration, freshness, elegance and balance. Absolutely delicious wines that are very affordable for everyday enjoyment.
