Sophisticated, but not too serious.
Archerdale is a brand created by 5th generation farmers Tanya and her husband Dirk Huevel. With access to some amazing fruit in the Lodi and surrounding AVAs, Tanya and Dirk wanted to create a brand that punches above its weight but is yet appealing, offering restaurants the opportunity to pour wines of great quality and value.
Archerdale is a reference to the deep sandy loam soils and the clay loam terraces that are found in the Lodi AVA. Indeed, ‘The Archerdale’ series consists of very deep, well drained soils that are derived mixed rock sources. These rock sources make up the seven distinct sub-AVAs of the Lodi AVA, all with their own individual character, soil conditions and micro-climates that are influenced by the Sacramento/San Joaquim delta. The fruit is sourced from estate lots spread across the region which are certified sustainable under the Lodi Rules. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, with a light touch of oak, these wines pair nicely with foods in a casual dining atmosphere.
